How long should I be off meds before trying to get pregnant? I take Valium and Ultram.?

I have heard many answers from a year to 6 months to 3 months even one month...anyone got any real answers? I have researched it online and have not recieved a simple answer.
I am in the process of weaning myself off I just have been hearing i cannot get pregnant till i wait a few months but never asked a perfessional so was just curious.

Meds should be out of your system as early as 1 week. 30 days to be sure.

You should be okay....start taking Prenatal Vitamins now. = )

Just call your doctor. They'll be able to tell you for sure.

I would say atleast 30 days but talk to your ob. I like you am on Valium and im trying to get pg. I dont take it often so if i become pg it wont be hard to stop. I also take percocet daily for my multiple sclerosis and with my last pregnancy i was told to stay on the percocet but take lower doses, i know percocet is ok to take but valium and xanx are concidered class d drugs, not safe. hope this helps

Valium can cause birth defects if taken in the first trimester. I take Lorazepam which is in the same class of drugs for anxiety, and I was told by my doc it was safe taken at a low dose; Ultram is a form of NSAID, used for pain, usually in the elderly population. Take tylenol for pain and try either switching to a safer benzo or weaning off of valium. Even if you took it up until you're pregnant it would be fine, just wean off carefully;

30 days should be fine. Good luck & lots of baby dust to the both of us with ttc.
