I have slight scoliosis, less than 15 degrees (s curve), have been very athletic, 23 female 115lbs. I am trying out yoga and various stretches though it doesn't appear to do the trick. I will keep working on it. Emory backbone specialists say my curvature shouldn't be causing the problem.
I do not know what is causing the muscles spasms. They are severe and have been spreading, getting worse for several years. The knots have cut off circulation on my dominant side and no longer have feeling in the muscle (skin still has sensitivity). The knots in my neck and all around my shoulder blade are this bad and have hardened. It seems I can now play a bass guitar with my shoulder blade and the strings (hardened muscle strands)
Normal Eeg, Ekg. Though I do have an undiagnosable heart murmur, could not be found with ultrasound.
The doctors I have been to tell me to do physical therapy and I have but with no positive outcome. Have tried plenty of chiropractic visits, muscle relaxants, deep tissue massage which seems to help temporarily. I watch my posture while in lesson and at work and now am using a back pad, I have tried many different beds, epson salt baths, vitamins, potassium, iron. I don't believe it is fibromyalgia because I do not have Ibs or high sensitivity to hurting. The pain purely comes from the muscle knots that I am aware of. I am depressed more so than I believe I ever have been, and anxious. And fibromyalgia doesn't give me any hope for a cure so I am doing my research and looking for different doctors, and causes.
I guess this is yet another desperate attempt to collect ideas and opinions from the public. I appreciate all of you who read this.
Lol, I know this may sound stupid but just for the hell of it can you try gin and tonic? I have this weird hunch that perhaps the quinine might help. It's a long shot and the only reason I'm saying this is because they keep recommending it for people with leg cramps. I intend seriously how does the brain know that the quinine is for the leg spasms and not for the back spasms. The other thing that might be worth a try is orange juice because of the potassium. Again its a long shot and if it's a cure well you just saved a thousand dollars in tests. Hope you feel better soon. Oh and my daughter has scoliosis and had the surgery when she was fourteen. She's (knock on wood) doing ok. My oldest daughter also has scoliosis but her curve is from front to back and again in an s shape but the spine guys tell me it's not a problem.
