I have a 7 year old daughter who I was sharing custody of with her father (my ex husband) up until 12-3 of this year. due to an incident where my daughter reported that my ex hit her, I had to dossier a Cps case against him and take full custody of her. My daughter has also been reporting to me that her dad is constantly sleeping all day long on the weekends he has her and sometimes during the weekdays when he keeps her home from school b/c he's too sick to drive her there. she states he sleeps all day and she has to get her own meals/entertain herself. -i do know that for months now, my ex has been up to all hours of the night (he'll try to call or text me during odd hours like midnight,2am,4am,etc when he has our child even) and then sleeps all day. -he has recently been requiring others to pick our daughter up from school b/c he is too sick or has had to take his soma and can't drive (this has happened frequently and he has even asked my first ex's new wife to pick our daughter up from gymnastics and keep her for several hours b/c he couldn't drive to come receive her after needing to take a soma). I'm just wondering if any of these are signs of addiction:

(he's up all night)
to sleep all day long, often not remembering what happens when woken up)
short term reminiscence loss (my ex has to be told matters 4-5 times and sometimes, still forgets them even after this many reminders)

am I right in thinking he's addicted? he's admitted to having a prescription for 350mg pills that he can take whenever he needs them....
now that you mention it Frankie, he Does take zanax and seroquel, and ativan-i've seen the bottles mendacity on his table in the past so perhaps these pills are what he is in fact addicted to-thanks for the input!!

Technically you can't be addicted to Somas like Heroin, Coke, Alcohol, Opiates (vicodin, morphine, oxycontin, etc). Isn't physically addictive at all, and hardly psychologically.
And Btw 350mg isn't that much of a dosage for carisoprodol (somas).

To receive it in your cranium more...
I believe you are wrong in thinking he's addicted. Folks who take opiates are generally told to take one or two pills every 2-4 hours or when needed and that creates strong physical and psychological addiction. In comparison, taking a, relatively weak, muscle relaxant like Somas will not cause Any physical dependence or severe psychological addiction. I wouldn't be surprised if a doctor prescribed him to take three 350mg pills every 2-4 hours or When Needed. Why? Because it has pretty low abuse potential.

If he's got insomnia and wanting to sleep all day long, and short term memory loss and such. It could be because he's taking/abusing something like Valium or Xanax (a lesson of drugs called benzodiazepines). Insomnia could come from lack of taking the Benzos (xanax, valium, klonopin, etc), and the memory loss and sleepiness is a normal side-effect of said benzos.
This could also come from using Pot. Same with laziness.

You don't have to take my word for it, but i do know a lot approximately this sort of object. A lot.
Try asking him whether he's honestly taking anything else. And don't try to seem like you're going to snap his head off when you do ask. Edit: Worst case scenario is he's taking a cocktail of mixed drugs; Uppers and Downers. But don't freak out or begin crying or anything bizarre like that, seriously, that alienates the user, especially those who are on downers cuz they tend to be very apathetic and don't want to deal with those emotions.

I hope for the best,
