i have never heard that you should avoid sex for this reason but it will be good to check it out with a physician.
You should avoid sex while you are on antibiotics because your birth control will not work during that time. If your physician told you to avoid sex during this time it is probably to give your body time to heal and to make sure the infection is cleared up.
Condom's are not 100 for one object. Another is that most people irresponsible enough to receive something like a sexually transmitted disease is generally irresponsible enough to spread it on to their next unsuspecting partners. Plus your chlamydia' sharing partner may not be cured yet either or may be giving it back. If you insist upon having sex then use a condom and make sure your partner knows you're infected. Good luck.
Edit: That's not true. Chalmydia can linger. Hence why you go back for another test to make certain it's gone.
The break is to let your vagina/body heal. It's like treating a lung infection. Smoking with a antibiotic' treat lung infection doesn't give the infection time to heal.
It takes time for chlamydia to go absent. if you have sex before it is gone you can give it to the person you have sex with. If monogamous then you can continue to give this to each other again and again.
chlamydia Wow i think you should avoid sex for ever particularly with the person who gave it to you.
