Recurrent bladder infections.. Antibiotics..?

I have recurrent bladder infections. I went to the doctor and he had a urinalysis ordered and it came back positive for a bladder infection and positive for e.Coli. He put me on Cipro Xl - 1 tablet once a day for three days. It definitely helped with the discomfort but my infection was still there. So I went back and he put me on Macrobid twice a day for a week and ordered another urinalysis. What do you think? Will it go away? I'm starting Macro tomorrow.
