Why give me a prescription for a real drug only to end up receiving a generic variation at the native pharmacy? Are they simply that cheap? I know both drugs are available but can they be so cheap?

Ok I am not a physician or anything, but the generic version is cheaper. It's the same with over-the-counter meds (the generic version that is.

Most insurance companies require the pharmacy to give you the cheaper generic unless your physician writes dispense as written on the perscription. Most of the time there isn't any difference, but if you think the generic isn't working properly, discuss it with your physician.
