Why isnt Xanax working for my severe anxiety?

After many test coming back negative doctors think I am experiencing severe anxiety. I was given Xanx 2 weeks ago at 5mg (4 times a day)...it does nothing for me at all. It doesnt make my panic/anxiety worse but it does take it away either. Has this happened to anyone? I now have Klonopin but I have not tried it yet....because it makes me anxious to try something else! Any feedback, opinions, or experiences from others would be fantastic!
