My doctor prescribed me Norco for my back hurting with 5 refills. After the first 3 refills it just got to be too expensive so I called the doctor and asked him to put me on Vicodin Es because it was cheaper. I explained to them that it was just temporary until I could save up enough money to receive my Norco refilled. They did call in the Es with 2 refills. I got both those refills. I had 2 refills left on my Norco and enough money to fill it. The pharmacist informed me that because I had 2 different, but active hydro scripts one was cancelled out. Yet he also said that he put in a call to my doc to authorize more refills on the Es. I have never heard of that. It's not like I was getting both the Norco and Es at the same time. I let my 30 days run out before requesting a refill.
Let me clarify. I have been using the same pharmacy and physician for over a year. My back hurting is caused from several bulging disks and one herniated disk. It's not normal back hurting.
Let me suggest this, just work with your pharmacist and physician. Make sure everything is documented. Don't jump around to different pharmacies, that will definitely elevate some red flags.
I wonder whether what happened is that your Norco cancelled out because with narcotics, you're only allowed a certain amount of time to receive those refills. For example, whether he wrote you a month supply with 5 refills and you got the first filling the 3 refills of Norco, you'd have 2 refills left. Most doctors will allow you that exact amount of time (2 months) to receive those 2 refills. If he called in the vicodin for 2 refills and you got it, you just ran out of time to get the norco filled and it deleted because that 2 month time frame is up. That's the only thing I can suppose happened. I've had cough syrup with hydrocodone sit and wait at the pharmacy while I got actual hydrocodone filled, so I wouldn't think it's because there were 2 narcotics at the same pharmacy.
Typically whether you are using just one physician and one pharmacy this shouldn't be a trouble. I have had two different narcotic scripts filled at Walgreens (not at the same time). If the medication is different with different directions this shouldn't come into impeach. Let the pharmacist call your physician just to satisfy his suspicions.
You are doing a lot of running to the dr. and pharmacy to find hurting killers when you could release the muscles in your back and be rid of the pain altogether. Your back pain is caused by pinched muscles in the back and they have to be released for the pain to go away. Here's what I did to receive rid of my hurting after suffering for over 30 years:
Back: (do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the outside of your left leg, keeping your left arm quite straight as you do. When you arrive your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
