Yes! It felt like I had been punched right below the ribs in the middle. Drink a lot of water and eat something. This should help. I hate Tramadol!

I was prescribed Tramadol 100mg, 3x a day 2 weeks ago. I had previously been taking codeine and occasionally vicodin for my pain. Tramadol gave me stomach pains and a feeling kind of like heart burn the first few times i took it. I also felt slightly sick if i moved around too much after i'd taken it on an empty belly. But after a few doses the side effects stopped. I found if i rested (e.g watched tv or read a book) for a while after taking the Tramadol it didn't make me feel as poor.

A few days later i experienced very poor stomach cramps that made me feel really ill and like i had food poisoning (but with no vomiting or anything) I felt dreadful and had a fever for 48 hrs, but i think that this was a just a virus and not connected to the Tramadol. The trouble with starting a new medication is sometimes what you think are side effects can be an illness unrelated to the medication. I remember getting really bad heart palpitations and shaking and sweating a few hours after starting a new med once- but it turned out i was just coming down with the flu.

I hope you're feeling better soon. I'm still taking the Tranadol, and i'm not getting stomach pains any more. If you're worried you could give your Dr a call to see if he has any advice for you. Hugs x
