Constant pain in neck and right shoulder down to correct arm and up to my chin for the past 2 years. Xrays, Ct scan, nuclear test, Mri, electromyelogram all came back lucid. Did physiotherapy, monthly massage therapy, acupuncture, chiropractor... all with little temporary relief. tried Nsaids, tylenol, lyreca, tramadol, muscle relaxant... all that appear to help is strechting by lifting my neck upward - seems to relieve pressure between my verterbraes. I do all the streching exercises, heat/ice, proper pillow, neck brace, office space reviewed by ergonomist. Massage therapy helps me from getting worse but I now have noticeable muscle atrophy in my shoulder and even with cortisone injections, I have no relief and can't sleep at night (trouble falling asleep and staying asleep due to pain). Hurting is present in the morning and gets worse throughout the day. worst at night. temporary relief with seupodol and long-acting oxycodone. Chiropractor thinks it's joint blockage at c3-c4. how come nothing shows on tests? can it still be a herniated disc? What can I do to be painfree?
I had neck and back hurting and did most of what you did also. Same results. Then I found out how to release the muscles which does just that, got rid of the hurting and haven't done anything form my back or neck in over 18 months now. Used to go to chiropractor 2x a month. Here is how to release your back and neck muscles, which is what it sounds like you need:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. After 45 seconds, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
With your neck in the lowered position, replace your thumbs in under the ears and your fingers behind your head but correct next to your cranium this time. Press your fingers and thumbs together again and hold. Relax your body while waiting. When the muscles have all released, slowly lift your head until it level again, release the pressure but hold your head like that for another 30 seconds.
Back: (do from a sitting position)
Place your left hand on your left leg next to your body. Place your right hand over your left shoulder and find the muscles next to your spine and firmly press on them and hold. After 30 seconds slowly lower your body forward and to the external of your left leg, keeping your left arm fairly straight as you do. When you arrive your lap remain there for another 10 seconds, release the pressure but rest there for another 30 seconds. Then reverse your hand positions and do your right side. For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.
