Can I Go Tanning Whether I Take Tetracycline?

I was on tetracycline for about a month when I went on a trip to China. The first morning I was there I took the pill and something just didn't sit right with my stomach and... the rest you can figure out. So, to keep it from happening again during my stay I stopped taking it. When I got domestic I didn't take it either so it has been a little over a month since I've stopped. I've been tanning often external (i never go in a tanning bed) and I wanted to begin up my medication again because my break outs are gradually getting worse but it says to stay out of direct sunlight. What I'm trying to get at is that I'm going on vacation in a week and I was wondering whether I could start taking my tetracycline again and tan at the same time so I can receive tan for my vacation. Whether so, how long should I stay out for? Whether you could help me, thank you so much!
The problem with the antibiotic you are taking is that makes your skin sensitive to Uv light, which makes it burn easily and it can also cause a sensitivity reaction that causes a red rash. There is a vast array of skin types, and all people do not react the same to the drug, so there is no way to know how much Uv exposure you can tolerate before it causes a trouble. In general, people with darker complexions have fewer problems than people with light complexions, but there are plenty of exceptions. You are probably better off waiting until the vacation is over before starting the drug again, but you could experiment to see how much sun you can tolerate when taking the drug.
