has anyone had experience taking ciprofloxacin with birth control pills? Can it cause an unwanted pregnancy?

Haha yeah. Look at my avatar for proof. I was on birth control and used condoms, took Cipro and, well...it's babyland around here!
It's not guaranteed or anything, but Cipro is a very strong antibiotics, and even the not-so-strong ones can mess with your birth control.

Yes, I took cipro once for a kidney infection while I was on birth control pills. and yes, it can make your birth control pills ineffective, so just to be safe, you should use a back up method of birth control, such as condoms, for the time you are on the antibiotic. good luck.
