I got prescribed tramadol for a med issue. Thinking it was non narcotic I thought I would be safe from withdrawals. How wrong I was! It escalated into a full blown addiction with side effects and withdrawals that made me wish I would die. I ended up in the Er twice over this. This is not a safe drug by any means! I am at the final end of the withdrawals, with the help of the Er physician prescribing other meds to ease the symptoms. I now feel that I will make it, although the depression is extremely poor from this as well. This is to warn people please do not get on this medication! It is just as bad as any other kind of opiate out there. And to all of you out there who are going through this and suffering, there is help, a light at the end of the tunnell. I didn't think so for days, but there is! God Bless You out there suffering with this and I pray that you make it through just as I did.

Your correct approximately that, it is addictive. But so is every other opiate/opioid. The trouble is that they don't tell you that this stuff is actually an opioid. It is a full blown synthetic opiate! It is a stripped down synthetic analog of codeine. I am currently addicted. But back to my point about so is every other opiate/opioid. What do we do when were in chronic pain? I have been on narcotics too, that's not a walk in the park either.

I do not know what to think.

Is this an advertisement for tramadol or you on the level?

It has very weak narcotic mu receptor binding, so it cannot be narcotic withdrawal or addiction, it must be something else. The drug acts more like prozac, but with seizure risks.
