My Dd has had strep several times over the final 2 years. She just finished antibiotics final Sunday and went for a throat culture on Wednesday to make certain she was not a carrier. The culture was negative and now we are talking about having her tonsils removed. Today she is complaining that her throat hurts again, her tongue looks coated, but she doesn't seem sick. Isn't it unlikely to have an infection so soon after completing a course of antibiotics?

yes, she could have the strep virus back...or actually what is mostly happening that the course of antibiotics are not strong enough/or the right ones to take care of the infection completely. Ask your physician for a different or longer doses of the antibiotic. Or...take her to a different doctor. I do hope she feels better soon! hang in there!
