I receive a sharp pain everytime I set my correct foot down. The hurting is at the juncture of the arch and the heel with the pain sometimes extending into the arch and over the heel. I started experiencing the hurting since nearly an year ago, but then it was only occasional. Since the past 3-4 months the hurting has become continuous.
Initially I thought it was because of my heavy stature. I'm a 25 yr old female of 5'4'' ht and I used to be 80kgs. But in the past 3-4 months I have reduced to 70kg with exercises including swimming and treadmill use. Whether my guess approximately the weight was true, the pain should have reduced and not become more as it is now.
Application of heat treatment, muscle relaxants give only temporary relief. I also took a course of 250mg Calcium per day for 2 weeks, the hurting definitely reduced during that period, but it's back again. It's not worse, but its not better either.
Consulation with general physicians is leaving me baffled as each is giving contradictory completely vain diagosis. Don't know who else to consult. Please help me find an reply, I'm losing the enjoyment in walking.
Thank you.
P.S: I'm in Hyderabad India where there are apparently no podiatrists!!!
Hello,
From your description it sounds like you may suffer from plantar Fasciitis you can reply these impeach I will be able to give you a better diagnosis and treatment:
1 Is it touchy to the touch?
2 Does it also hurt when you are not walking?
3 Do you have high or low arches in your feet?
4 What kind of shoes you generally wear?
5 Is there any redness or swelling in your heel?
6 Do you have the same hurting symptoms in both heels?
For now I would propose normal treatment which involves icing your foot at least 4 times a day and stretching your legs and feet.
I also advise you to buy inserts to wear in your shoes, preferably custom made.
Another thing that you can do in order to keep exercising but not worsen your pain is swimming or going into spinning classes - Avoid high impact exercises like the treadmill.
You can write to me directly if you prefer, itaiw better and Good luck!
This is called heal spur. To receive immediate relief stand facing the wall. Place both palms on the wall. One feet 12 inches from wall. Second feet 24 inches from wall. Move your chest towards wall. Do not bend your knees. You should feel your calf muscles tightening. Do this for approximately 1 minutes 10 times in a day. Relief in approximately 3 days.
There is in soul or special shoes for this. But they are not real cures.
To get permanent relief follow the under mentioned routine. Do not sleep for at least 3 hours after a meal. This is most important. This is to ensure that we do not cause movement of toxins from our blood to our body (outside our blood system). This also helps in better repair of our body during sleep.
1. First 2 days
Drink 3 glasses of water before each meal. So total should be 9 glasses a day. Stop all other liquids.
For example if you take lunch at 2.00 pm, take 1 glass each at 12.30, 1.00 and 1.30 pm. Some deviations from suggested times are ok.
Do not alcohol water after 7 Pm.
2. Next 7 days
Reduce water intake to 6 glasses day. 2 Glasses before each meal.
3. Next 2 days
Reduce water intake to 3 glasses day. 1 Glasses before each meal.
4. Next 2 days
Drink 1 glass of water in the entire day.
5. Next
Repeat 1,2,3 and 4.
