Amoxicillin or evern go to your local doctors as you could have toncil itus of just a throught infection which can be easily cleared away with some antibiotics

Zithromax (azithromycin) is better for a sore throat.

Unless youre sure its from an infection and not just irritated or an allergic reaction, I would do the honey lemon tea thing. Whether you think its something more serious like strep throat etc you should let the doctor decide. Both of those antibiotics will work if its an infection but the Zithromax will probably work faster.

unless you are in some area that going to a doctor to have it looked at isn't possible, then it is best not to jump onto the antibiotic train until you know it is an actual bacterial infection! Antibiotics will Not help with a viral, allergen, or irritant caused sore throat...AND it can actually help you on your way to having a nasty antibiotic resistant bacteria set up shop in your body...

So unless you absolutely can not see a physician, or whether you see pustules or something on your throat and have no chance of getting a rapid strep test, etc. then do not abuse antibiotics like that!

What you can do until you see the doctor:
take advil or tylenol. Warm tea with honey or sugar to soothe it.

Yeah, see a doctor, but if you think you know your body pretty well, Zithro is obviously stronger. Do yourself a favor and buy generic, it's like a 1/5 of the price.
