I have a bladder infection, and received medication. The medication prescribed to take one pill, twice a day, until they're gone. But my symptoms have near completely stopped, and I still have plenty left! Should I take them as prescribed anyway?

Yes take them until gone because if not some of the bacteria could still be there and grow ,then you would end up with another bladder infection.

You need to take them, as directed, until they are all gone. The symptoms may be gone, but the cause may still be lingering.

Ask your doctor not strangers on Yahoo. It's un-christian to talk about that kind of stuff to strangers.

If you have any concerns like this you should consult your physician. It is the safest route to go but do not just stop taking the medication without his advice, it could harm your body.

When you take an antibiotic it is very important to take every single portion of your prescription. While your symptoms may have subsided all the bacteria may not have been killed. The number you have in your system may be below the threshold to which you develop symptoms. If you were to stop taking your prescription and there was still some bacteria alive in your body and they reproduce in your body they may have become resistant to the antibiotic that you are currently prescribed. Then you would have to get a stronger prescription.
People who abuse antibiotics is why many of the bacterial infections that were once easily treated have become more difficult to treat. The bacteria have developed resistance to the antibiotics that have been developed.

Keep taking the medication as prescribed, until you have finished the entire prescription. Even though you feel better, there still may be some leftover bacteria that can grow and spread if you stop taking your medication too soon. Whenever you are given antibiotics for a bacterial infection, always finish the entire prescription.
